Osprey Packs was founded in Santa Cruz, California in 1974. Founder, owner and head designer Mike Pfotenhauer sewed custom backpacks and sleeping bags on a customer by customer basis. That’s a far cry from the Osprey of today, with worldwide distribution and a pocketful of editorial awards among other things. One constant remains—our dedication to innovative design and quality packs. We’re confident that our latest product line will carry on that legacy.
