Product Details - Patagonia Men's Adze Jacket


Wicked winds, spring squalls and the bite of early March mornings – whether leading out from a hanging belay or ski touring the High Sierra, the all-new Adze does everything a soft shell should. It breathes, blocks wind and keeps quiet. Key is the Polartec® Windbloc® stretch-woven polyester shell, which deflects wind while breathing freely and moving with a soft, supple hand – add to this a DWR (durable water repellent) finish which resists moisture. The microgrid fleece interior traps heat, moves moisture and feels great next-to-skin, allowing total versatility with short- or long-sleeved layers. Features include two reverse-coil zippered hand pockets and one internal zippered chest pocket, hook-and-loop cuff closures and a drawcord hem to seal out the elements and seal in heat.

    This is a great multi-function jacket. It's warm enough to wear as a main layer from the 20's-50's. Gets a little warm after that though...

    VERY water repellent. I've work this during a rain and not a drop has come through. Blocks nearly all wind as well.

    The sleeves are long. They have cinch cuffs so I tighten them to keep the sleeves from extending past my wrists (I don't have abnormally short arms either).

    Could use an exterior chest pocket, but the two hip pockets and interior chest pocket suffice.

    As with all Pat gear, feels and looks very well made. The black is clean and solid enough to wear with business casual yet still hit the slopes or enjoy some outdoor activities.

      Excellent wind blocking jacket, keeps all the wind out. I have worn this in 50-60mph wind and none of it was felt inside. But this jacket isn't warm, so I wouldn't wear it under 55F. If you have base layers you can definitely go lower depending on your layers.
      One problem with the jacket is the right collar pokes you in the neck all the time. The left collar is fine, but the right collar is annoying.

      I like the jacket, except the paint brush red color isn't red. It's more like a hunting clothing orange. I like the styling and construction of the coat but am disappointed in the color. I love the color red and this isn't! I would recommend the coat, but beware of the colors other than black.
