When the sun dips and the wind kicks, nothing beats high-loft down. The Down Sweater Full-Zip Hoody features 800-fill-power down, stabilized through a quilted construction and protected by a superlight but tough, windproof and water-resistant shell (100% recycled polyester ripstop) with a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Pockets: two zippered handwarmers and one interior zippered stretch-mesh that doubles as a stuffsack with carabiner clip-in loop. With a single-pull, 3-way adjustable helmet-compatible hood and a drawcord hem.

        I also have the nano puff hooded jacket. This is warmer and great for when the temps get down below 30/40 degrees. Purchased this jacket for the backcountry but find myself wearing it more often (to the grocery store, etc.) Its light and packable, so its great for traveling as well.

        The inner pocket designed to pack the jacket works great. One concern I had at first is it getting stretched out when the jacket is stuffed into it, so I purchased a small stuff sack to store the jacket when traveling.

        As for sizing, i'm 5'-11'' (44in chest) 190 lbs and a Large fits me like a glove.

          Patagonia is all about practical and functional, but with a quality edge over most of its competitors. My son has this down sweater with no hood and *loves* it, but after reading reviews, I decided the hood would be handy. That was a great decision. Love the "coat" (sweater?). And for a down garment, it's actually slimming! This is not a sub-zero jacket, but for California's mild (and often fairly wet) winters with occastional freezing temps, it's ideal. The price available on O2 was the best on the Web, and the transaction was flawless.
